Is this true for Oxford only or is this true for all unis? Also is this course-specific? Could you please provide a source for this information if you possible? I had a similar question as OP so this is an interesting response for me.

true for all medical schools apart from Exeter and partially qmul. the source is university websites - they usually publish ucat cutoffs

That's what I thought too but when I asked the admissions team at Kings College London, they said try getting the best predicted grades because for them having 3A*s gives you an advantage when trying to get an interview. But I know that for Imperial Med having higher predicteds than the min entry req isn't advantageous.

So is Oxford Med Predicted Grade Req more like Imperial's or KCls because most applying last year from my school had like 3 A*s predicted

In the past Ox has previously said it doesn’t consider predicted grades. What does the med school say in its admissions statement / application policy for 2025? It’s the first year for UCAT for Oxford so things may be slightly different this year, so even more important to see what they say.

Have a look in the medicine forum / and in the medical schools sub forum at this years entry threads to get a view on what has happened in the past.

And whether med schools generally look at predicted grades in the sift process is a slightly different question to the second point about whether having higher than the entry requirements makes a difference or not. Some med schools disregard predicted grades, some check to make sure you meet the minimum requirements and beyond that don’t care, some like Exeter build it into their pre interview sifts.

Post interview, some med schools may look at interview score and contextual markers, or even UCAT/SJT, but the majority base offer decisions on interview score alone.
