Hey again @Brianstudy01

How are you?

Thank you for your patience whilst I was waiting to hear back from the academic. I've received the below reply, I hope this helps but please let me know if you have any further queries.

Thanks for your interest in MPharm at Bradford. All the different schools of pharmacy will get you to the same place in terms of preparing you to be a pharmacist. The different between the universities is how they get you to that point. For example, we do a lot of team based learning rather than lectures. We've had a positive response to that, if it seems like it would suit you then we could be a good option. This is where open days are useful to help you decide which MPharm course and university you prefer.

You can book onto our upcoming open days here. 😀

The 5 year route is more about your foundation training. Before becoming a practicing pharmacist you need to complete your degree, do a year of foundation training (which you get paid for), and then complete the GPhC registration exam. At most universities, you do the 4-year degree and then are on your own for the foundation training. We do offer that route, but we also offer 5-year option where the foundation training is built into the course, so you get some additional help and support through your training. Financially it works out about the same, there are a few pros and cons to each route which we would go through before you join the course to make sure you are on the one that best suits you.

Good morning @Brianstudy01 😊

There is an application process for the training placements, there will be a list of what placements are available and you’ll indicate which options you prefer. You’ll have some options as to when and where you do the GPhC registration exam, you will hear more about that closer to the time. You don’t pay full fees for the 5th year, it’s 10% of the usual fees.

I hope this helps!
