Best degree to study for finance

I am in year 12 and want to become an investment banker or a job which pays really well in the financial sector. I am currently predicted A* (maths) A* Further Maths and A (economics). I want to know what degree is the best degree to study at university which would give me the best chance to become an investment banker. For example, I know that financial maths and statistics at LSE is really good but I'm not sure whether maths and stats is good etc. Please give me advice thanks

any quantitative degree is what to aim for. the main thing would be studying at a university that's targeted by IB firms, like LSE/imperial/oxbridge

the main difference maker is the preparation you do for job applications. people who begin with "want a job which pays really well in the financial sector" usually have a fair bit of research and development before they make it to a job offer - but im sure you could imagine that

Maths degree for quant trading, and any degree for investment banking. Economics is the most common degree for investment banking, but that is more correlation rather than causation. Economics or another finance degree can help you get a bit of background knowledge for interviews, so you might have a bit of an advantage with those, but you can have any degree, including humanities. The key though is getting into a target uni, as stated by anther poster.

Ideally quantitative trading and I don't know whether a join maths and stats degree or a maths with stats for finance degree or even just a maths degree is ideal to go into quant trading

Is a maths with stats for finance degree or a maths and stats degree also as good as a maths degree by itself to go into quant trading because I'm worried if I do a maths degree by itself I won't be able to get into investment banking incase quant trading doesn't work out (as its very competitive)

Honestly I would say it's all just about practice. If u don't get a topic, look at examples from the textbook and if u still don't get it look at youtube videos from bicen maths. Afterwords do the textbook questions to make sure u understand but if u feel like y need more practice do questions from maths genie and pmt and u should be sorted

No I don't believe they would be quite as good as a straight maths degree for quant, but even if you did not get into quant, a maths degree is perfectly fine for investment banking, so don't think that's a risk.
