journey into the inescapable grasp of a-levels

hello fellow comrades,

I am a recent survivor of gcses (which were good ig) and I am starting a gyg for a-levels HOW EXCITING FINALLY ALL MY ATUFF CAN BE ORGANISED AND I DON’T HAVE TO DO SUBJECTS I HATE ANYMORE (throwing shade at those who enjoy english you are my sworn enemies).

anyways, here are the a-levels which I plan on taking:

- maths (ocr a)
- further maths (ocr a)
- chemistry (edexcel)
- biology (aqa)

p.s. I also want to get ahead in terms of content 😒 and start as maths and biology before I start in sept seeing as my sixth form is VERY VERY competitive

I’ll start posting probably in aug if I’m not too busy (we’ll see if I procrastinate for a-levels like I did with GCSE’s 🥰🥰)

Love the subject choices💙💙

Yes getting ahead is key...do you know what you want to do in the future? (don't worry you have loads of time!!)

im thinking of taking biology, chemistry and history a levels starting in september. i want to go on to study something biology related (maybe more conservation focused, but want to keep my options open). most of the uni courses i've looked at for bio require chemistry. ive struggled with chemistry at gcse but i worked hard and am now predicted a 9. idk how much i will enjoy it but i think it's useful to keep my options open. do these subjects work well together? people say that history might be hard with two sciences but i loved history so much at gcse and it also provides me with an essay subject if i change my mind about degrees. i was also considering french because i took the gcse in year 10 and got a 9, but i think i'd enjoy history more.
so i guess my questions are, is this a good combination? and what can i do this summer/when i start year 12, to prepare?? thank you!

A level chemistry is nothing like GCSE...do look at the specifications before making any decisions!!
Best of luck for your a-level journey. Keeping on top of a-levels is crucial especially because there's so much content
