Is anyone going to Cambridge Maths School (CMS) this year? Does anyone know what you actually do in the Maths research project?

Im not from Cambridge Maths but Im from KCLMS we do a project too and it consisted off researching, reading and writing up conclusions. How it worked for us and it may differ is we get into groups and chose our topic. We met with a teacher that taught us different skills such as referencing how to write an introduction and how to read an article or book effectively. It was done in groups of 4-7 and at the end of the year we would give a formal presentation summarising all wr have done. In my opinion it is similar too an epq and is good prep should you wish to attempt one. LMK if yoy want to know more

I just got my enrolment offer today! :biggrin:

It seems CMS hasn't given much information about the research projects, but I imagine they will be similar to what the other maths schools have done, ICLMS gave the most detail: https://www.iclms.ac.uk/studentresearchprojects2023

Even so, it will probably be explained at CMS when the projects start
