Gap year?? Cyber security?? HELP

Unfortunately I haven't got accepted into a degree apprenticeship or regular apprenticeship and ice decided I don't really want to do uni. However I'm a bit stuck now.. what should I do in this gap year? What skills should I learn?? I really don't want to waste the year any advice would be appreciated

Based on my limited experience, I recommend starting with the CCNA or Cisco curriculum, learning Python and other programming languages would be beneficial. During the BT Apprenticeship, we used https://www.w3schools.com for programming tutorials. It's often more productive to start learning and refine your path as you gain experience. Also enhancing your CV and refining your application and interview skills would be beneficial. If you're young, consider gaining life experience through travel, various jobs, clubs and volunteering. You can secure a cybersecurity role without an apprenticeship, degree, or formal qualifications, most resources you need are online. It can be done independently, tough but achievable. Hope that helps

Hey there, I made a video on this exact topic on what people should do if they got no offers this year but don't really want to go to university. I'll link it here, and hopefully it'll give you some advice to help you - https://youtu.be/FjzXgl9l4j8

Awesome advice 👌. A year might seem long, but it really is a drop in the ocean in the grand scheme and won't be wasted if you focus on upskilling. Interviewers appreciate when you learn from mistakes. Check out what recruiters are looking for and don't hesitate to ask people in the know. Use apprenticeship Facebook pages and LinkedIn to get insights. You might be surprised by how much people are willing to share.
