Access Programmes

Im a little late to start researching for programmes however does anyone know any access programmes that lower grade boundaries that start late. Im currently doing the Manchester uni one but was wondering if any other unis do any this late. Ive just finished year12 and am looking to start uni in 2024.

What do you mean by ''Access" courses - Widening Participation schemes / Summer Schools that get you a reduced offer etc? And what Uni subject are you aiming at?

Yeah mostly a programme that achieves a reduced offer if possible however if not I wouldnt mind schemes held by universities to boost work experience etc for personal statements. Im looking at studing Economics.

These sort of schemes will have closed in the spring. There wont be any still recruiting now.
You are already doing one - a good one too - and this will benefit you in ways beyond just 'Manchester'.

Look at doing some relevant Moocs over the summer :
The Economics and Politicians - Online Course - FutureLearn
Challenge Wealth & Income Inequality - Online Course - FutureLearn
Logic: The Language of Truth - Online Course - FutureLearn
Jumpstart University | OpenLearn - Open University

Thank very much, appreciate it.

I hope you meant 2025.

As McGinger said, it is much too late now for these sort of programmes. The only execption I know of is the University of Birmingham's access to Birmingham programme for year 13 students, but there are conditions you need to meet - might be worth looking into this.

Hi @Student0617
Lancaster's Access Program currently accepts both year 12 and year 13s who are eligible! You can find more info about the LAP here Lancaster Access Programme - Lancaster University and make sure you fill our the form to apply (deadline is November 29th 2024)! The program currently offers a range of activities that prepare you for uni, gives you an experience on Lancaster's uni campus and a 3 grade reduction among many other things. I personally have been on this scheme and I'd definitely recommend it, I learnt a lot and had some of the best pre-uni experiences!

Hope this helps!
Rachel, Lancaster University Student Ambassador.
