is dofe gold worth it for economics unis

Hey all ,
I've signed up for dofe gold at my school, paying just over £40 for the start up fee, but now after my exams, im starting to question whether or not dofe is really worth it. First of all, the expedition and residential seem really costly and for that price it may be more beneficial to enroll in a course more suited for what im looking to go into: economics (financial related). Also, i signed up for dofe just for the qualification aspect of it, i was kind of reluctant at first because of my bad expedition experience at bronze (getting lost ect :/). After looking into it more, i've seen people say its useless for universities, however is it any good to put on ur CV?

Any advice is apprecieated

DofE is worth about 15 exams. Sure, universities are only interested in grades, but employers couldn't care less about grades, exams or degree certificates. They are only interested in what skills you have and what you know. And when we are talking skills, we are looking at team working, communication, leadership, organisation, yada yada. In other words, pretty much every skill you gain through DofE. It is only 3 hours a week. If you can commit to that for 18 months, that says way more about who you are than three A*s which frankly everyone has these days.

So do it. Do it well and do it willingly.
