applying for a student visa from a country without financial requirements

Hi!
I’m an international student who just got an offer from UAL. I was checking visa financial requirements and my country (form the EU) is listed under countries that do not need to provide financial proof - however at the bottom it says we *might* be asked it anyway. As I was planning to pay in installments and take out loans in installments (my country doesn’t have a good student loan system so I would need to use regular bank loans) if they decide to ask me to provide proof that I have the entire tuition cost + over 1300£ for 9 months in my account i’m pretty much cooked 🙃 it’s a really crazy amount and I was planning to make money while studying to support myself as I work freelance back in my country. Does anyone have experience applying for a student visa from a country on this list? Did they ask you for a financial statement?

Hey, I hope evrything works out for you!
When I applied for the CAS I didnt have to provide financial documents, Im currently applying for the student visa and so far there is no mention of it since my home country is on this list. To be honest I dont know if they make like random sampling so only a few need to show them or no one needs to provide it. Good luck!

Hi thank you for the answer🙂 Yeah the wording on the website is very vague, I hope it means they only ask for it in some extreme cases or something haha

I’d advise you to give it in anyway. Giving them a reason to ask for extra documents might cause you a lot of heart ache in the future.

Read this thread for a bit and think about it.
