Typing

Is it true that at some point the exams won’t be handwritten anymore? I heard that exam boards are going to make all exams electronic (Except for the obvious: Maths, science, etcetera)

Currently, typing in exams is only available to certain students who would be at a serious disadvantage handwriting (due to speed or legibility usually). Even if such plans were in place, it would not be compulsory for everyone to type but the option would be available for all. Many would prefer handwriting because that’s what they’ve only done.
I typed for my English and Sociology exams because I have a visual impairment and it's impossible for me to write at the same speed as other people due to eye strain. I don't think it will, currently in order to type in an exam you have to prove to the exam board that typing is all you've mostly ever done in previous exams (unless circumstances change). Typing is normally allowed so those students can be levelled on the playing field compared to others, if everyone typed, then those same inequalities would likely persist.

Yes, I’m not talking about Access Arrangements. Sorry. I should’ve said. I’m talking about exam boards changing the system so that some exams where are all exams except those who have permission to use a laptop (as an Access Arrangement), will no longer be but will be typed by everyone

As of right now, only people with access arrangements can type. This provides a slight advantage to those with access arrangements, which sparks the debate of whether it should be open to all. If it was the case that everyone could type, it would be very expensive and quite hard to manage. The printing process would be chaotic. I doubt that exam boards would allow that for that very reason. Makes it much easier for cheats too.
