Earning 25k a year at 21 years old

Hi, I graduated from uni with a first in law, I haven't got a job that's got anything to do with law but I managed to find one and earning 25k yearly I work 9-5 mon-fri. Is this a low salary for my age.

Hey, I'm the same age and same degree lol - many many congrats on getting a First!!!!!! I think this is a good salary depending on location, circumstances (what outgoings do you have - do you live at home? do you pay rent?). Key questions to ask are: Are you happy with how much you earn? Are you able to cover your costs comfortably? Are you able to save a portion?

25k is fairly typical for a graduate starting salary

i sense you're not entirely happy with it though. that's fine. aspire for what you like of course. with a first in law and a job that can hopefully provide you with experience in something, you're free to continue applying for jobs that interest you

Decent starting salary if not in London. Remember you're not going to be at that salary point for the rest of your life, and plenty of grads can end up in the 21k salary range if unlucky so that's a pretty good place to be. Most grads don't start off on 40k plus straight out of the degree!

Hii thank you soo much ☺️ I love near Birmingham with parents I try help them as much as I can like paying for electric and gas and mortgage etc and groceries. I just don't understand how people manage on this salary with children etc must bee soo difficult. I'm trying to save up to invest in properties but you get such less mortgage it's annoying. The job in is like administration a lot of calls and can get draining and for that work such a small salary it's just sad. But I guess that's how it is sadly.

Yes that salary is fine. You wont be on that wage forever.

Stick with it. You have a job, and everyone has to start somewhere.
Do that for a year and then starting looking around for the next step-up.
