Mid A-levels but i want to go into corporate law

Hi everyone,

I have quite mid alevels of BBC but this is due to mitigating circumstances that I had too go through at the time of my exams which affected me drastically. i have good set of gcses basically straight As which shows that i usually have a good work ethic. I am also going to be studying at KCL and wanted to ask if i still have a good chance of breaking into corporate law? I've always wanted to go into this but feel that my results will bring me down and I won't be able to apply anywhere even considering i have mitigating circumstances. please let me know your opinions thanks

I think you should check with others doing corporate law (there might be some on tsr you could private chat) - but i dont see why your results would bring you down! Your gcses are good and you still have 2 Bs in your a levels which is still good personally. You also have mitigating circumstances so you have proof that your a level grades are not the best you could have achieved so i wouldnt worry too much!

Also KCL is a pretigous uni which would already put you in a good position.

Honestly you will be fine especially with KCL.

If I was you make sure you network, take as many opportunities as you can.

Apply for internships and vacation schemes.

Apply to be an ambassador.

Find ways to be unique and stand out to the firm (you would be seen as a investment worthwhile).

You will need to make your extenuating circumstances clear otherwise leading law firms will not look at you. A Levels are an important consideration for recruitment, as are your first degree results.

Hii how much do u know about mitigating circumstances, I missed my offer for UCL as I got A maths needed A* I’m gonna get it remarked but it was quite a bit of marks, I may be able to get mitigating but is it too late now, I told my skl they said they can write a letter for me but didn’t mention anything about exam boards or anything
