my advice from someone who got 9-8 in their English GCSES:

if creative writing is a weakness for you, pre plan a few template stories which you can have ready and slightly adjust any details as needed to fit the exam question; typically the questions are pretty vague so you should be fine with this.

similarly to the last one, if you're aiming for full marks some of the hardest marks to get are vocabulary marks so its worth having a few sentences with advanced vocabulary (i.e complex metaphors, sophisticated words etc) that you can sneak into your story to get those extra marks

an obvious one but reread after you write!! in the stress of the exam it's so easy, no matter how good you are, to lose silly grammar marks, check punctuation and spelling

plan plan plan, spend AT LEAST 5-10 minutes planning and do not start writing until you have planned a beginning, middle and end otherwise you will end up waffling.

use your teachers! they are the most valuable revision resource you have, don't waste them! write stories and ask your teacher to check them, get feedback and improve from it.

if you have any more questions please ask

Hii, i noticed your response to this question and i was wondering could you help me out please? I am in my first year of college but last year i got a four in my English language GCSE I made a massive mistake of using the wrong sources in my second paper which had reflected in my grade. English has been my favourite subject since primary, yet I am retaking this year to get higher than a four to advance onto A-Level English. I have paid for a course as they were unable to fund me as I did pass and was wondering if I were to upload my creative writing could anyone please give me feedback as I do not have a teacher due to it being self study. I am aiming for a 7 and above and I would love if you could! Thank you
