If I can't find a internship in finance and get it in a law firm , is that bad?

Hello, I study economics and want to work in finance. If I can't find it in finance and I get one in law in a small firm is that bad ?

Hi there

It is great to hear that you have been searching for work opportunities. 🙂 I understand that internships can be really difficult to secure- especially in the fields that you are interested in. Law firm opportunities are quite competitive, so its great if you secured one. 🙂

At early stages of your studies/ career- I do not think any forms of internships will be 'bad'. They may not link directly to your field of interest, but you will definitely be getting a better idea/ see in person the functioning of a business (law firms are also businesses) and understand its daily operations. The internship more importantly will also give you transferrable skills which will be useful in any environment in the future.

If you want- you can always continue searching for finance/ economic related internships/ work experiences- they should not be too long (if it is a summer one- it usually will not take up the whole period). 🙂

Hope this helps.
