What are some good sociology revision resources?

I’m starting A level sociology in 2 months and would like to know of any helpful revision websites, YouTube channels ect

Hello, I do a level sociology (aqa) and I'm predicted A*. Here's what I do to revise

Recalling information: You need to do active recall to do well in a-levels and you should start revising early. I make flashcards on Anki after every lesson, and I go through them every couple of days. I prefer anki to other sites because it sorts out how many flashcards a day you need to recall so if you do them everyday it doesn't get to overwhelming. You can also find flashcards other people have made. There's Quizlet, which I found has more pre-made flashcards for sociology. If flashcards aren't your thing then I find mindmaps + blurting useful as well. To find content for a-level sociology I use my class notes and for extra information Tutor2U has good topic videos on youtube.

Exam practise: Please do check out THETEACHERSOCIOLOGY on youtube if you're doing AQA. Her videos are what get me consistent A/A* grades. She does videos on exam technique and she has top band examples as well. I memorise the structure she goes through in videos so I know exactly how to write answers.

Please do let me know if you have any questions. I would be happy to answer them as well as I can

Sorry I don't use textbooks (I'm planning to get some in the near future...) I recommend searching up good quality textbooks for aqa sociology.

Yep, I do psychology (aqa) as well :-) For psychology recalling information is the same. For YouTube channels, I recommend psychboost because he has summary videos on every topic. Also exam practise is just about doing as many exam questions as possible, especially for research methods because the questions are quite similar

Hope this helped :-)

If your doing media as an optional A2 subject the tutor2u revision guide is a must btw. There revision vids to on it are amazing

Do you think physics and maths tutor has good notes in psychology A level? Here’s a link to their social influence pdf https://pmt.physicsandmathstutor.com/download/Psychology/A-level/Notes/AQA/1-Social-Influence/Detailed%20Notes.pdf

Yes, sometimes I do find them useful especially for the attachment topic. However sometimes I find their notes are "too detailed" so it can make some topics quite confusing (I found this with approaches). This might just be my personal opinion though so you might find pmt more useful than I do. I usually consolidate my notes using psychboost

If they are online you can make it a public deck so it can be accessed easily! Also how did you structure your fc and know what notes to add? Im confused on what information to include

Ah okay, thanks for letting me know! I'll consider that when I finish making the flashcards! They have a lot of typos and some of the info is wrong (I made them in a rush lol) so I'll have to refine them before I can share them :woo:

That makes sense, thanks! With my flashcards I put sociologists names on one side and what they 'said' on the other side. I also put statistics like census data and also key words and key points for different theories. Hope this helps
