Durham, Liverpool or Exeter for Data Science MSc?

Hi everyone

I am an international student, and was wondering if anyone could give me their input into which MSc to choose between these three (already got offers for them). It would be a full-time MSc in all cases, starting in September

I have already researched a bit about all 3 Unis and cities (or town in Durham's case haha). I have read that Liverpool is a quite nice student city, and Exeter is also quite nice due to being in the south. Durham seems very nice too, although it is a small town, but is 30 mins away from Newcastle.

As far as their prestiges is concerned, I think Durham is the best one of the three according to international (and UK) rankings. However, I am not sure how well each of them is regarded in the Data Science field.

Any input, opinion or suggestion is welcomed. Thanks in advance!
Hi there!

I am an international student doing a masters degree at the University of Exeter and I have found it to be a great city to live in. It is definitely smaller than Liverpool, however it has everything you might need from shops to cafes to outdoorsy activities. It's also located just 30 minutes from Exmouth where most of the students do weekend trips especially during warmer weather. I have been living in Exeter for 5 years now and still manage to find new things to do especially because you are always surrounded by students! It is also a campus based university which I think is a great advantage because you have all the department buildings, shops, libraries, sports facilities etc. just a few minutes away.
The international community is also amazing and there is a society for pretty much anything you can think of as well as Guild-supported events targeted at international students so you can meet new people and explore different cultures.

In terms of data science, I am not in that field so I cannot tell you exactly what the differences are, however I know quite a few people who did data science and they all loved it so I am sure Exeter would be a great choice!

I hope this helps and if you have any further questions about student life and the city please do ask!

Durham.

If you want colleges look at Hatfield or St Mary’s.
