How selective is RCSSD 's MA Acting ?

How selective is CSSD (Royal Central School of Speech and Drama), specifically its MA Acting (Contemporary/Classical branches auditioned as one) ? Like many drama students in London, I've always heard it placed at the same level of implied selectivity and prestige as LAMDA, GUILDHALL, RADA, ROYAL WELSH and a few others, but I've seen a uni website state that RCSSD's acceptance rate is of 38%, which is immensely less selective than the typical 10–20 students p/several 1000's applicants that those schools are supposed to practice. If anyone has knowledge of CSSD's selectivity for its MA Acting; but also for its BA Acting, it would be more than welcome.

I'm not sure where that website got it's information from but in my experience CENTRAL is just as selective as any of the other "top" drama schools. I don't have the figures in front of me but I believe it's something like 4,500 applicants for about 50 drama school places.

The website states the following.

The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama is among the institutions that don't provide data on acceptance rates........We estimate the above acceptance rate based on admission statistics of closely ranked nearby universities with similar research profiles that do publish such data.

Also that would be for the school as a whole which includes slightly less competitive courses such as applied/experimental
theatre.

For BA courses the admission statistics are 1 in 10 but that includes all their courses. I know of several who were tutnd down for Acting and offered for example devised theatre instead.

In the meantime I've gotten a recall for their Acting: Contemporary & Devised BA and was similarly wondering about their selectivity. The Applied/Experimental-related courses you mentioned are in Practice theatre courses and not in Acting; but you mentioned people turned down for acting and being offered Devised instead (I assume the Contemporary & Devised mentioned above), this means this course is less selective ? Anything else at all you know about the course would be of help. Thanks
