Urgent: King's VS UCL (Psych/Cog Neuro)

Hey! I got offers from King's for the MSc in Developmental Psychology and Psychopathology, and from UCL for the MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience. I initially leaned toward King's because I had potential funding but that didn't work out, so I'm kind of back to oscillating between the two.

I intend to pursue a DPhil/PhD after and do interdisciplinary research in psych and neuro. I would appreciate advice or insights regarding which of the programs would be more adequate to pursue. Thoughts on the unis themselves, or the degrees from alumni or current students would be appreciated. Thank you!

(I understand that answers might be biased, so I'll be posting on both university subs)

Hi,
Congratulations for your offer. It would depend on your background and your future research interests. The developmental psychology programme course is more focused on perinatal stages and mental health conditions that result from this period of growth. Cognitive neuroscience will cover more subjects related to cognitive process and related disorder. Both might have some overlaps. The developmental psychology course needs basic understanding of psychology and also basic statistics. The cognitive neuro science course also covers neuro imaging course
I am joining the developmental psychology and psychopathology course starting September 2024 due to my future research interests.
Good luck with your decision.
