Which A-levels should I take if I want to pursue a career in child therapy?

I’m sure most of you have heard of CAHMS and I’m wondering what A-levels I should be taking to get a job in this field/similar line of work. I’m currently in the process of applying for colleges/sixth forms and I’m completely lost.

Psychology would likely be the most useful. I did psychology at a-level and have just completed my psych degree at uni so if you have any questions about studying it feel free to reply or message me! 🙂

Psychology degree - and then a Masters degree, and a PhD, and years of experience.

Remember that at degree level, Psych is a science subject, and most Unis will want science A levels and a high GCSE Maths grade (for stats/data work).

There are numerous other careers avenues in this area that are not as arduous in terms of study - and that don't require a Psych degree.

Thank you so much. Would it help if I took biology alongside maths and psychology?

Aim for a degree in mental health nursing, occupational therapy, social work, etc. For mental health nursing you need at least one science A level so biology would be ideal.
