Can I still get into Cambridge?

Ive seen some year 12s post about this so i thought i might as well as i dont think ive done well in my gcses either.
Im hoping for 998887777777 but if i do get these results I will resit 3 of my 7s to hopefully achieve 999998887777. I was aiming for all 8s and 9s but maybe it was my revision technique that let me down. Provided with good A levels ( 4 A* ) and a high UCAT, could I still get into Cambridge medicine ? Or should i lower my goals? Ive already started preparing for A levels to be ahead, so resitting won't affect my a level results.

Your grades are slightly lower than the average applicant, but that in no way means that you can't get into Cambridge. I've seen people with lower grades get in.
I would focus on your A levels, as they will be the major factor in your application outcome, and balancing A levels and 3 GCSE resits might be a bit hard, but if you wish to retake some of your GCSEs and also maintain your A level subjects then that's fine as well. The 4A*s and good UCAT will be very important.
Good luck!

ok thank you! I was just a bit worried as apparently no one with less than 6 A* has ever been interviewed.

Not true, and don't waste time re-taking GCSEs. It's not the same academic test to retake exams, it doesn't compensate. Your time is better spent in ensuring you get A*s and getting more medical experience.

No worries  I'd also recommend looking at outreach programmes for medicine, as it will support your studies and also boost your application! These typically begin in Year 12 so I'd recommend having a look over summer.
