Hey guys, so I'm going into 3rd Year now and I absolutely love trading and the markets as a whole and want to pursue a career to become the best at it. I wanted to become a quant, but I realised my finance degree is not good enough for it, but I was wondering if good hedge funds, BBs, prop-trading firms etc. would hire traders who are not quants without a STEM degree? I see this as a strong barrier to entry.
I have very high grades (high First) at a target uni (Warwick) and picked very quantitative modules in a Finance degree, but I wasn't sure about the feasibility of this. I also have self studied Python to a pretty good level and would say that I am naturally inclined towards mathematics but not at the level of a Maths or CS Major. I wanted to know the realistic opportunities that I have, and if Investment Banking would be a better career choice than trading. Is trading even a realistic possibility?
