Failing a module

Hi, I study social work at the university of Bedfordshire and I’ve just finished my second year.

I have been told I’ve failed my assignment due to plagiarism concerns and have failed the unit all together. Either I repeat the unit in January by itself or it will supposedly “trail”.

im still waiting for confirmation from the exam board but what will happen now? And will it affect my student finance?

Hi,

In terms of failing a module. First thing during Resit period (typically in july/aug) will allow you to redo said assignment, if you pass it you won't have to do it again.
However, if you fail the module again, you will redo the module. This can be done in 2 way depending, if you failed more than 2 modules, you'll redo the whole of second year, however, you have stated you only failed one, so you will take your final year modules, plus the fail module.

Regarding SFE, they accord for 4 years (UG), meaning if you have to redo the 2nd year, SFE will cover. If you move to final year with an additional module, they will pay the final year. (subject to this being within the 4 years).

Hope I managed to help!

Thankyou for this advice, I believe I am not permitted to redo the assignment that I failed unfortunately hence why I’ve been told I have to redo the unit. However, the unit will be the only one I do for the year which starts from January to April. Will I still receive my full student finance or will they give me less because I am not learning for most the year?
