A levels for Vet med

After these gcses I'm sure that I got atleast a grade 5 in my sciences or if I'm lucky a 6. I really want to do vet med and ik I need bio and chem at a level. I recently did work experience which solidified my plan to become a vet as it was such a rewarding experience. Idk what to do or how to convince my sixth form to allow me to take bio and chem and I really want to put in the work. I've tried to listen to other people's advice and think of another career but it keeps going back to vet med. Any advice will be helpful, pls

Essentially for the best shot, you will have to convince your school to let you take biology and chemistry. The other routes all have a bit more risk to them etc as you won’t be able to apply to every uni. You do also need the correct GCSEs for the course, so if you do not meet them I would also resit them in year 12. Have you considered talking to your teachers, head of years, headteacher alongside your parents and offering to do extra work during the summer to prove you’d be able to handle the subjects?

I also want to retake chemistry and biology GCSE in year 12 and maths in November. I also want to get a tutor for biology and chemistry if I get to do it at a level. I'm really passionate about veterinary

A big thing to consider is minimum GCSE grade requirements. if you do not meet the minimum GCSE requirements you will need to retake unfortunately. Of course there is no need to massively panic just yet before you get your results. It might be worth checking some university websites so you know what this is.
One thing i will say is i got good GCSEs and i still struggled horrifically with chemistry at A level so please do consider your ability to do certain subjects.
Alternatiely there are other ways to get into vet med. My friend didnt get the correct a levels so did biovet at RVC and then reapplied and got a place at nottingham so maybe consider other routes in.
Also consider why you want to be a vet and if there are other careers that fill all of your dream career requirements if all else fails. For me that was marine biology!
I suggest having a meeting with your teachers to get their opinions.

Ok thank you for your advice. My mental health kind of depleted during GCSEs and I was getting bullied all throughout secondary school so sixth form would be a fresh start. I don't mind retaking GCSE chem and bio, also I want to do the first term exams which will help the teachers know I'm serious about this
