Advice for daughter

Hi there.
So my daughter is going into her last year of high school at 15 soon.
Wants to study in computer graphics and design.

Has been for the last few years focusing on anime type designs and stories.
Has a lot of own designs and recently made a comic which took a few month to do using her phone. Has a gaming p.c with the utilities and pad with the apps but has kept with using her phone.

My daughter is quite shy and finds it hard to share her designs with people she doesn't know for certain reasons.
I'm wondering if anyone can help or direct me and my daughter on where can she go for someone to look at her work and give a bit of advise on what to work on.
Any helpful advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello, Coventry University Student Ambassador here!👋

Showcasing art as someone who isn't already in the field can be very nerve-wrecking, I've gone through the same issue in terms of putting my work out there. However, there are some spaces where she can share her work, get feedback and potentially network with other artists/designers, such as Behance or Dribbble, both of these are websites where she can share her design portfolio, and seek advice and feedback.

One thing I did when I was looking for someone to rate my work and provide guidance, was to seek out art teachers in my area (at colleges, or even universities if they are available), just to ask if they would be willing to take a look at my art even for 10-20 minutes. This is unconventional nowadays 🤔, but it is a way to get feedback from a professional, perhaps try to ask friends or relatives if they know someone like that, and if they can put you in contact with them. Otherwise (although also a little unconventional), is building a network on LinkedIn, and trying to seek advice there, or cold emailing professionals in the field, or even artists that she admires. Some may not respond, but there's bound to be someone out there who will (this is something I did, and I got some solid feedback).

Hope this helps, and best of luck!
Bianca

No problem, I hope this provided some insight into the options available. I also recommend exploring ArtStation, a website curated specifically for artists and designers.
