Msc in Applied economics (Banking and Finance) for pursuing a Phd in economics

I intend to enroll in the University of Bath online program on Msc Applied Economics (Banking and Finance). I need some flexibility since I'm pursuing civil services exams as well, hence the online master's decision. However, I am not able to find the exact topics that will be taught under the program since the requirements for PhD in universities like Cambridge and Oxford require a master's degree equivalent to their master's degree in economics. After doing the online master's program, will I be eligible to apply for a PhD in Economics? Will studying applied economics reduce my chances of pursuing PhD in Economics?
