Application with Foundation Year grades

Good morning,

I got less than what was required in one module of the basic course and, although I passed and got good grades in the other three modules, the grade I got in the biology module isn't enough to get into Psychology at Reading. I will retake the exam, but if I don't get the grades I need, is it possible to apply to another university? How does that work?

Thank you very much

If you have your final results, send them to Reading now.
They may still accept you.

If you are doing an immediate resit - literally in the next few weeks - and you will have those resit results before 31 August, tell them this.

Thank you very much for your quick reply. I apologize for not explaining myself well. The situation is that I'm at Reading University on the foundation year program. The requirements were to get a 55+ in the Biology module, which I didn't get. Although in the other modules I finished with good marks and passed, this one is lower than the requirements. If I don't get the 55 in the resit I can't continue in Psychology at Reading, but I'd like to know if it's possible to apply to other universities with lower UCAS or A-Level requirements with my foundation grades, as we cover Psychology and Biology subjects.

Have you checked with the Admissions Team at Reading - is this a definite No, or are you just assuming it is?

It is a definit No if I don't pass the resit with more than 55. I will push harder to prepare for the exame which is multiple choice. But I would like to know what I can do if I don't get the 55.

You can submit a new UCAS application and make enquiries in Clearing. You'd need to list all of your qualifications from before university PLUS your current course.

It's up to university discretion whether they'll consider the Reading FY and if they will whether they would be flexible enough to accept it with failed modules.

Its worth phoning/emailing Unis like Kent, Plymouth, Brighton, UWE, Winchester with your results - these are the sort of Unis who might be interested in you.
