The answer for UCAT is to aim to get as high a score as possible. It sounds trite but it’s true.

The higher the decile / score the greater the range of med schools practically available to you. Don’t forget SJT and try and get B2 and up for similar reasons.

Not all schools will look at predicted grades and esp not for AS; but if you can convince your school to critically review it and you promise to work exceptionally hard and they predict a minimum of 3As - that would undoubtedly be helpful. (Esp given the B in Chem).

Hey, I run 1-1 UCAT tutoring during the summer and have loads of resources that I think would benefit you. I'm currently a second year med student at Imperial and scored 3090 when I took the test myself a few years back. Let me know if this is something that would interest you!

Hi would you mind sharing ur stats from ur application? e.g a level subjects predicteds, bmat score, how u revised ucat to get 3090?? since most people use the same resources, how come some can score 3000+ and others get average 2600?? Many thanks!

i definitely agree with the other reply, aim for the highest UCAT score possible so that have many unis you can apply to and have a good chance of getting an interview. Also don't be afraid to move your ucat test if there's other spaces available if you feel you need more (or less) time

but it is also important to say that whatever score you get, be proud of yourself and know there will be places you can apply to strategically

UCAT is an aptitude test and some people simply have a greater aptitude for what is tested than others. Preparation will improve most people's score, but there comes a level where your own personal aptitude will max out

This is very true. However, there are strategies for tackling each section that help people to maximise the marks in a clever way. It’s important to figure out what works for you and then hone that strategy!

As I say, good preparation will improve scores, but my repsonse was to the question "how come some can score 3000+ and others get average 2600??" It is because some have a greater aptitude than others. For some, you could prepare for years and still not score >2600, for others, 2 weeks prep will score >3000.
For any individual, scores can be improved, but as I said, there will come a stage where that will max out dependent on that aptitude.
We can all play tennis and improve with practice, but no amount of practice will make all of us Roger Federer or Serena Williams
