Keeping course credits without graduating

Hi, I am in my last year of my course but do not have enough credits to graduate. My current plan is to take some time away and figure things out before hopefully returning to university to get my degree. My question is, will any credits I've earned so far go towards my degree when I come back or would I be starting from the beginning again?

How many credits do you have? And how have you ended up not having enough credits?

Do you have extenuating/mitigating circumstances that might justify the university allowing you to repeat your final year?

I have 300 right now but I believe I need 360 to graduate. I have already repeated a year. This is due to mental & physical health issues which have caused me to miss classes & exams, using up all my resit opportunities. this is why I hope to take some time off to get better and hopefully have a better chance at passing if i return to studying

Depending on your university's regulations, 300 credits might be enough to gain you an unclassified ordinary degree (i.e. a degree without honours).

Are the university aware of your mental/physical health issues? What allowances (if any) have they already made for these issues?

Hi!

I would recommend getting in touch with your module’s guidance team. They’re there to help you with situations like this, and can give you better advice than people who don’t know how your university and module work.

I hope this helps!
