I got a D in my maths AS Level Mocks

Okay, quite embarrassing post however I am currently in Year 12 and have just received my AS Level results for maths - which was a D overall. Considering next year I am taking A level and want to achieve a A/A*, I really need some advice. Is it even do able? I've heard that second year maths there is a lot more content and I'm not even sure what went wrong. I am considering using Up Learn or getting a maths tutor, but other than that I just really need some advice. For context there was 10 U's, 6 E's, 4 D's and 3 C grades in my class.

No one really got higher than a C? I wouldn’t say a D is an amazing grade or anything but considering most people got lower maybe it is the teacher ?

Ive also just finished y12 and icl im the same i was failing so bad like i got a U on all my assessments and i think we had about 16 assessments, but i clutched in in the end and bagged a B by doing loads of questions and past papers. If u need any help lmk

It is absolutely doable. I got a U in my year 12 mocks in chemistry and ended up with a B. I got a D in my year 12 biology mock and got an A. I have herd great things about Up learn but not used it myself. I got a chemistry tutor which was very helpful.
Firstly looking at the grades in your class it seems like it was a hard paper.

My tips:
Arrange a meeting with your tutor to sit down and analyse what you got wrong. Its helpful to consider not just this exam as well. If you dont want to do this get some different coloured highlights and go through this paper (and any other exams/tests you've done this year) and highlight/mark difference sections/topics and see which areas you perform worst in.
One thing that greatly helped me was that I would meet up with my chemistry teacher twice a week at lunch and jsut go through stuff and do progress reports.
For my confidence and for the teacher to predict me higher grades I did another mock in the first week of year 13 where i got a D. Whilst this wasn't massively high it was an insane improvement and it showed my teacher that i had fixed my maths and understanding (with help from a tutor) so all i needed to really do was started memorising/learning content.
Then just do loads of questions. You can find them online and often schools have some as well. Just keep doing these as often as you can!

Thank you so much, this has given me hope!! Outside of lessons / tutors how did you organise your revision? And what did you do to see progress?

I started by listing the topics then summarising my knowledge onto an A4 piece of paper and then seeing if I could explain it. I did make lots of aesthetic notes but really this was a waste of time. I recommend lots of flashcards over and over. I checked my progress with mock exams and online questions plus every 6 weeks we were tested in class. I also got blank copies of previous exams to see if I had improved

my revision was veryyy rushed since i only started actually learning everything about a month before my mocks, i had to relearn alll the topics again so i watched zeeshans videos explaining the topic and did rhe exam questions w him after id go onto madasmaths and just do lots of practice, my teachers also gave us lots of exam questions so i did them and honestly it helped me so much so im definitely going to be doing this next year just alot more!
