Year 11 gcse

Just a quick question is it expected that most people bump up 1 grade from their year 10 mocks to their final year 11 gcse?

Well normally people still need to work on different subjects over y11 so its expected grades go up by a bit.

However the final results are unpredictable!

depends on the person, i knew a girl who was getting 4s and 5s in year 10 but got 7s and 8s in the real thing. i also personally went from 8s and 9s to 5s and 6s, so it goes both ways

if you crack down in year 11 though then yes it’s very likely you’ll go up by at least a grade

So when do you think i should start revising and for how long to bump up each subject by 1 grade

assuming that you’re at the end of year 10 right now, i say start in september. the sooner the better, but enjoying your summer holidays wouldn’t hurt. i personally started in december but by then it was too late for subjects like science and i only improved by one grade for one subject whilst the rest of my grades declined.

do 20 minutes minimum every day, set up a revision timetable so you can alternate between subjects and not lose track. increase the time you spend on weaker subjects to like 40 minutes minimum, but don’t overwork yourself either. give urself breaks in 20 minute intervals
