reuben's (trying to beat 2022 in terms of social life and general fun) summer blog

now a levels are over, i'm wanting to make this summer the best ever. i have a few things lined up - i'm going solo camping in 2 weeks to the lake district which will be action packed, as a family we're going to hungary for my cousin's wedding last week of july, i'm going to all points east (indie music festival) with a mate in august and leeds fest the week after to see lana del rey. until the 15th aug it's just a matter of keeping myself busy then hopefully it will be planning for uni and buying everything i need.

basically just went to leeds to see my sister today, as she lives there most of the week now.

caught the train, but there were loads of delays/cancellations, but got there in the end

went to las iguanas for tapas n cocktails - we had beef quesadillas, brazilian fried chicken and patatas bravas, for cocktails i had 2-4-1 mango collins

went vintage clothes shopping in blue rinse

then urban outfitters and h&m in trinity

from urban i bought a light blue n red rugby style shirt and some blue corduroy shorts

went to wendy's for a snack - chicken nuggets and a chocolate frosty, the nuggets were rlly salty tho

ten pin bowling for a game (bumpers up embarrassingly) and arcade games - air hockey, mario kart and basketball

oriental supermarket to try and find our dad

found him then went back to gran's for tea

we had a salt n pepper munchy box to share (chicken breast pieces, wings, prawn toast, spring rolls, chips, sweet n sour, hot n sour, garlic mayo)

went home bc i was so tired (did all of this on 2.5hrs sleep)

another fairly lazy day with not much on. i applied for two jobs, one at morrisons and one at a local pub. i'm actually a bit more hopeful for these jobs than the other ones i applied for. i'm walking a lot atm, which is good for fitness and just general getting fresh air. mostly just chatting as per usual, and my sister came home from leeds so we talked a lot.

been quite a fun day today, just the usual chatting but i hit chest, shoulders and tris at the gym, then played badminton with my sister (no good rallies were held unfortunately, as she kept hitting it out of the court), then went to wetherspoons to watch the england game with mates, overall a fun night out.

had a great day, basically just went out for the night, firstly to spoons and then to a park and chilled. before that did some work for j2h, including editing the website and making a tiktok for their page.

It sounds as though you have some excellent plans. Hope you enjoy!

Lake District solo camping sounds amazing.
so i've just come back from camping - i did canyoning, stand up paddleboarding and hired an electric mountain bike and explored around the lake - it's so satisfying to tackle tricky hills so easily. overall had a great time. i spent way too much money on food and transport however 😭

That sounds so lovely! Glad you had a great time
it's been mostly a boring week since coming back from the lakes; however i did go to leeds to just browse some shops (obligatory urban outfitters trip and some vintage shops) and then went to leeds pride which was pretty fun although it would've been better to stay for the night scene too. last night i chilled with some mates in the local park and then at mine, and that was a good catch up even if it had only been about a week since i last saw them! i'm off to budapest later today which i'm really excited about - i haven't gone on a plane in 5 years! and i've got a maccies interview in about an hour so i've got a pretty packed day today.
i'm back from budapest now. i had such a great time and it was so warm and sunny as well. the main event was my cousin's wedding which was held in the basilica, which is a really majestic building and also one of the main tourist attractions in the city so there were lots of random people just watching in on the service! the reception afterwards was amazing too - an open bar, lots of dancing (including the traditional hungarian bridal dance), the civil ceremony, and of course the buffet and cake! aside from the wedding we did lots of sightseeing (plenty of pics for the gram), swimming in the palatinus baths, which had thermal pools appealing to my sister and waterslides + wave pool for me lmao. however on the way back i missed my connecting flight from amsterdam so i was stuck in the airport for 7 hours, but managed to keep myself relatively occupied.
