If you need to shift your room, try Facebook as when I decided to defer the year a couple of years ago before starting my MSc, I had LOADS of people try and take my room off me (about 50).

See if there is a Housemate finding group for your university.

Hi there @em1601 , I had a friend in similar situation and need to move out. I would create a listing on platforms like SpareRoom, Open Rent, Gumtree or look into advertising among relevant Facebook groups. Alternatively, you can try creating a flyer at your university's notice board or reach out to the Uni's Accommodation team to see if they know someone in urgent need of a room. Hope this helps 🙂

Hi there,
If you haven't already, I'd make your accommodation provider/estate agent/landlord aware that you're looking for a replacement tenant, just in case they have anybody on a waiting list. Posting on forums like TSR is a good start but I'd also recommending utilising social media (e.g. Student Facebook groups specific to your uni city/uni) and sites like SpareRoom.

Thank you! I let them know after the issues happened and they have tried to help by emailing my roommates to see if they will help me find a replacement and they all ignored the email sadly - but i’ve started to try facebook, i may try other socials too if i can figure out where to advertise
