Reflections for Nursing and PARE

Hi

I am currently doing adult nursing and in my first year. One of the things I need to start doing is writing reflections. The problem is I don't know what to write reflections on.

For example, do I write reflections on the first time I took out someone's cannula or maybe how I felt the first time I witnessed someone being diagnosed with cancer or does it have to be an interaction with a patient and how that made me feel. . . . . . . Or can it be all of those.

I would be grateful if anyone could shed some light on this for me.

Many Thanks

Reflections can be on quite literally anything that you've done in practice, situations that you've been in.
Templates and guidance on reflections can be found here - Written reflective accounts - The Nursing and Midwifery Council (nmc.org.uk) - this is what RNs are expected to use for revalidation but can be used by students too.
Reflections, like mentioned above, can be done on absolutely anything that you've done or seen in practice.
On my PARE, I did one on a teaching session I did for other students, another was a complex case and the care I delivered.

The link the previous answer has given is a good tool, but I use Gibbs' Model of Reflection.
