Near miss

Im an international student and have been issued a conditional offer of 34 666 in HL subjects (IB) for Law LLB. I just got my IB results and they are 34 but 655. I had accepted Newcastle University as my firm choice however do you think i will have a chance to get a final acceptance from them, as im eager to go to Newcastle and i can see they have gone to clearing for this course. How likely am i to get accepted. Pls guide me.

Hi @Haddoos

If you do not quite meet your offer conditions, we will consider you a ‘near-miss’ applicant. In this scenario, all applicants who met their offer conditions would receive their place. For any places we have left over, we will reconsider all ‘near-miss’ applicants and look to place the most promising applicants.

As you are an IB student, you can call our hotline between Monday 8 to Friday 12 July from 09:00-17:00 on 0191 222 5106.

Hope this helps

Hi, I didn't do the LNAT this year becuase during last summer I was set on doing a gap year and didn't want to have toredo it a year later. I applied to uni this year to see what offers I could get. Naturally, I could not apply to the best and wasaccepted into all but Warwick. I have been accepted into Manchester. Lets say that I got A* A* A* A with one of the A*'s being the international bac. Should I accept Manchester or should I be looking for somewhere stronger? If so where?Becuase Warwick rejected me with A* A* A A.
