Sunni and Shia Muslims

Hi, im Shia and i just wanted to know why many sunnis dislike shias so much cos theres barely any difference between us except a few beliefs.

For starters, Abu Bakr should have been the first caliph.
Secondly, Shias place too much importance to Ali, so much so to the point where some can argue it is Shirk.
I am not too knowledgeable on Shiaism so I will ask a mowlana that I know and come back to you

ur talking about the alawites. thats a very small section of shia islam who think imam Ali (AS) is more important than the porphet (pbuh) and im not one of them. We do believe that Imam Ali (AS) is very important because he is the cousin of the prophet, as well as his son in law and one of the most important people to the prophet because he declared him his successor. Of course i disagree with the alawites, but many sunnis believe that all shias have this belief but that is wrong.

people have diff beliefs and thats ok but like i think some sunnis think of u guys as outcasts sort of?? im sunni myself but i definitely dont hate shias or think they're unworthy but maybe we have the wrong interpretation cuz i remember my cousin telling me he had a shia friend who whipped themselves as some form of worship but i made a shia friend of my own and she told me they did nothing of the sort so i think it's just that some of us dont understand the reasoning behind another branch of islam's beliefs

yh, but i js hate how so many people have the wrong interpretation of shia islam, the two branches are rlly not that different at all and even the small differences dont matter that much

ive watched abt 20 mins. ill finish it when i get back from Duke of Edinburgh expedition on Wednesday cos i leave tmr, but i js wanted to know ur opinion. Why dont u think Imam Ali should have been the first caliph??

Honestly, I don't know enough to be making statements like that yk. When it comes to the Seerah and history of Islam, I kind of rely on my mowlana for knowledge and would repeat that to whoever asks. I will try and get more info for you for tmrw at 2pm.

Yh. It's good that ur asking about this stuff at this young age. Keep asking things and strengthening your islamic knowledge.

I have never really understood it if I am honest. There are some parts that I just don't get, but that might be from the minority of Shias. tbh, I've just always been taught not to not like Shias and to disagree with them. But I honestly never rlly paid attention to it much. There are some things that make me laugh about it, but that is just a couple of videos that mean nothing:
