Dating advice

Heyyy, so I just started working as a waitress in a cocktail bar (I’m 16 and I work from 6 pm to 2 am). The environment is amazing, and my coworkers are great, cooperative, funny, kind and friendly but they treat me like a child sometimes, since all of them are 30 + year olds, which totally makes sense, because compared to them I am very young, and it doesn’t really bother me that much. Anyways, there’s this one guy that is friends with my coworkers and comes to the store quite frequently, and to be honest with you guys, I am extremely attracted to him , and I’ve developed a bit of a fat crush. And I know that he also finds me attractive because he hit on me before he found out about my age. After he found out though, he stopped flirting and just started talking to me in a normal manner ( which I know, is good because that means that he isn’t some kind of weirdo). The problem is that he’s probably way older than me, so there’s a very small chance of anything happening. He looks about 20-21, which personally I would normally find it weird for such an age gap in a relationship to exist, since one party of that relationship would be a literal child and also, because people in those age groups have very different life experiences and responsibilities. Plus the difference in the maturity between them can be rather big, but that really depends on the people themselves. I’m not planning on acting on these feelings, but I just wanted to get this out of my chest, and to hear your thoughts. Also I feel like if I did try to make a move, nothing would happen because he seems like a decent guy 😭

PS: the age of consent in Greece is 15, so if something were to happen he wouldn’t get into any legal trouble.

He was likely interested in you and was assuming you were a bit older (I am not aware on Greek legislation but in the UK you would need to be 18 to work in a cocktail bar, so not sure if it is or isn't a valid assumption). In the UK at least, a 20+ year old and a 16 year old would generally be considered somewhat icky; a four-year age gap is the average for adult relationships, I believe, but when one of the individuals is below 18 here then the generally acceptable age gap narrows a bit.

It definitely was a valid assumption for him to think that because I am working illegally 😭 at least I’m getting paid well! . Anyways turns out the guy is 28 NOT 20, so there’s no way in hell I’m gonna make a move because that would be icky asf.
