Can you apply for PGCE Maths with a Launguage Degree and a pending A level?

I've accepted an offer for PGCE MFL (Mandarin), which starts in September. My training provider now offered me a placement that is about 40 miles away from home. I'm also worried that I won't be able to find a job near home once I finish this course.
My question is, if I apply for PGCE Mathematics, will they accept a language degree with a pending A Level in Maths? I applied for PGCE Maths this year, but they refused me because my degree wasn't relevant.I plan to do an A Level in Maths so I can apply for PGCE Maths next year.
However, A Level exams are only held in June, and results won't come out until August. Is there any other type of exam I can take in the autumn that is equivalent to a Level?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

You would need to look at an SKE - even an A level isn't enough. You wouldn't get a teaching post with so few qualifications. Look at an SKE

Thank you for replying. I thought SKE is only for candidates who already have an offer. Can you do it as an individual candidate? I'm worried about they won't give me chance if I agree to do an A level or SKE.

I would take Further Maths as well - yes that's what I said even if you got an offer you'd need an SKE. Without a degree that's 50% Maths you'll struggle to get accepted.

Yes, you can choose the self-funding option, try Liverpool Hope.

When I am applying, I notice some provider do accept A level, but of course, you will need to get an A at lease.

Thank you for your reply. I have accepted an conditional offer for math teacher training and I'm currently half way through the SKE course. I don't think you need to achieve at least an A in A-level. They didn't mention anything about A-level in the offer actually.

Well, the one I saw said A in A level. Anyway different providers have different criteria
