study abroad options

Hey I'm currently deciding on study abroad options for next summer and I'm torn between Saitama Japan or Seoul Korea.
I'm deciding between the two because Japans summer school is a week shorter and Saitama is a good city to study in but its a bit far from Tokyo where I would realistically be going often. The metro system is also complicated and expensive so I'm not even sure if I could explore as much as I would like.

Korea's summer school does look appealing, but I was reading Reddit forums where locals can be rude to foreigners (after having a bad experience with people in France, I don't think I could handle 5 weeks of this, especially as a solo female traveller). Also is there a lot of places to explore because 5 weeks is a lot, people say after a week or two it gets tiring being in a busy city like Seoul.

Does anyone have any experience with travelling to either?

both sound like great options, i'm trying to choose which one i'd rather go to for a year haha. I have friends who studied in Korea and they loved it. Theres cities such as busan, and even jeju island you could visit in Korea which would give you a break from the city life. I assume both countries are strict academically, but youd only be there for a few weeks.
