Economics at MMU prospects

I want to study economics and I’ve applied to 2 universities which are Chester and MMU. From both i got offer to start from foundation year as i applied by qualification from my country. I would choose chester as i live here, and know the city well, but they don’t have an economics course, only accounting and finance one. And just wondering about prospects i would have from both, either if i went to mmu for economics or to chester for accounting and finance. And would ask for some advices, i really need them. Also i would like to go for foundation year to chester (accounting and finance) and then go for year 1 to mmu for economics, but i don’t really know if it’s possible to do.

Hi @Bodya1703

Student's at Manchester Met have the opportunity to study at a triple accredited business school (placing us in the top 1% of business schools worldwide), undertake placement years and internships, and take part in credit bearing, extracurricular activities through our RISE programme.

Previous BA/BSc (Hons) Economics graduates have gone on to undertake roles with organisations like Deloitte, HMRC, HM Treasury, the NHS, Experian, PwC, and the Government Economic Service.

Aside from the university itself, Manchester is a great place to live and study. It's a bustling city with a great student student life with lots of things to do.

Unfortunately it wouldn't be possible to study a foundation year in Accounting and Finance and then go on to study Economics at Manchester Met.

I hope you find this information useful and it helps you with your decision making. Please feel free to send us a message if you've got any more questions.

Chloe 🙂
