Hey I attend laet! i would say to not even attend the school 😭 i’ve had a really bad experience alongside many others and there’s a reason we’re behind on grades. but anyway:

1) yes, i have one, but i don’t even use it because the person who is in charge of bursaries takes months to process orders. (they don’t give u money, you have to buy school stuff with it only)
2) less boys overall by a lot actually
3) they give you a chromebook for £30 but either a ipad or laptop of your own works fine (the chromebooks are old and slow)
4) just the clubs are mandatory (they made them seem more cool on my induction day but trust me they’re not it)
5) there’s “a lot” but are basically unused (eg the law society and basically all societies)
6) i would say 8:50 but many people get detentions
7) assembly (wed) tutor, 5 periods of study and lunch (theyre repetitive and nothing new comes up most times)
8)) there isn’t rlly one we stay in the cafeteria
9) the worst thing ever they fry my brain (basically there’s no space, it smells and it’s suffocating)
10) 3:30
11) depends on subjects (expect a lot of useless homework)
12) it’s a weird one bc there’s bullying, beef and people don’t experiment outside their secondary friend group
13) rlly big, there’s too many students sometimes
14) people usually stick to their old friends
15) yup
16) yes
17) the teachers are the worst part bc they all don’t put in any effort and expect you to know everything yourselves
18)) umm there is fish and chips but idk which day i think it is fridays (i never eat the food is dead)
19) no
20) yup
21) they put us in this darkish room and we do nothing for 30 mins/1 hour - they’re all for rlly small things too

i know i sounded rlly negative throughout these answers but trust me, don’t come here. i wish someone told me this sooner. you’ll be happier elsewhere and i wish you the best of luck

omg what is going on I was really interested in laet but i haven’t actually seen the school (i didn’t even go to the taster days) so i have literally nothing to go on.

i beg you share your WHOLE EXPERIENCE. Could you please elaborate on the school like:the teachers, the grades, the people and the school in general like you said that during frees it’s so cramped and it smells.

SAY EVERYTHING AND DONT LEAVE ANYTHING OUT

I really don’t want to make a mistake going there also thank you for replying!!!

Fr when I went everyone seemed so happy so I was confused on what they were talking about. But if not Laet then what school? For my year the new year 12's most of us came by are self's and if not then there whole friend group would talk to you.

thank you so much for your reply and thorough answers!!
i’m glad you’re able to share your truth and your bad experiences here, initially laet was my first choice option for sixth form and now i’m having doubts..
if it isn’t too bothersome would you mind elaborating more and sharing your experiences with the school, teachers and everything else that made your experience bad?
thanks so much again!
How’s your experience been going so far then? If you ended up in laet. I know it’s only been a few months, but do you think there’s ‘beef’, or pressure, is it stressful? What’s your overall opinion so far???

hii!!

So far my experience with laet has been quite good!! Although, since it’s only been the first few months I anticipate it’ll become more and more stressful!!

In terms of overall, student life at laet is manageable and much more fun than I expected!
