Predicted Grades for Oxford

Hi! I have recently done my year 12 mocks and was hoping to apply to Oxford in October. I found out recently that my school does not predict A*s, so my predicted grades will only be AAA. Is this going to hinder my chances for getting into Oxford, or would they be aware of this and focus on other factors?

yess, grades are not the only thing, i mean there are interviews and many more. And i'm sure that if you do work hard, then you can get even more. In yr 13, we have mocks again, but idk abt you, if i were to get an A* on them then they can change my predictions, so dont worry.

That sounds like rather an odd thing for the school to do -- to not predict A* grades. Who told you that (was it a teacher?) And are you sure that's an official policy?

I would imagine that a school having a policy of not predicting A* grades even when a candidate realistically deserves that as a prediction would negatively impact their pupils' applications to the most selective universities.
