University applications

Hello! For a bit of context, I was born and raised in the UK and lived here until 15. I moved to Canada in 2022 and have been schooling there since year 11 (grade 10), and I hope I can come back to the UK for university in 2025. I visit the UK every summer for 3 months, and I’m not sure how the application process would work for me. Would I apply as an international or domestic student? I have a UCAS account, is that necessary? Thank you!
Applications are made via UCAS for both UK and international students. The University you apply to may request more information from yourself once they receive your application to determine if you are classed as an "international" or "home" fee paying student - JD

I see! What characteristics would determine if I’m an international or home fee paying student?

It would be your nationality, where you live and how long you have lived there - JD

Just apply, and each Uni will determine your fee status individually as part of their assessment..
Fee status is a complicated area and so no-one here can give you a definite answer - but here are some very basic guidelines from one University : Understanding your tuition fee status (bath.ac.uk)

Are you sure of this? I thought it was based on where you have lived the last three years.

Like McGinger said, it'll be down to each University to assess your fee. If you want to feel a bit more confident, you can contac UKCISA: Contact Us | UKCISA
