what should i choose for chemical engineering?

choosing my a levels rn and have absolutely no idea. Probably going to do either maths, further maths, chemistry and dt or maths, physics, chemistry and dt but I don't know whether to choose physics or further maths. I've talked to loads of people and they all say do what you like the most and what you enjoy the most but which is best for chem eng?
For Chemical Engineering Chemistry and Maths as you are probably aware are usually needed. I’ve checked the requirements for uk unis and this combination will get you into the vast vast majority of them. However a few of the top unis do require Maths, Chem and another related subject (Physics and FM are included in this but DT is not).
Are you absolutely set on chemical engineering? I ask this because if there’s a chance you might switch to a different field of engineering then you will absolutely need Physics so if that’s the case I would recommend taking it.
Are you also certain you want to take 4 a levels? I know some schools mandate it and im not advising against it as such but some people dont consider how much extra time is taken up by this. Think of it like this: if you take 3 subjects then youll have maybe 5 hours of study periods per week and 15 hours of homework on average; so 10 hours of homework outside of school hours. If you take 4 subjects then youll have a near full timetable and 20 hours of homework; so 20 hours of homework outside of school hours- are you prepared to do this? Especially considering if you take DT the amount of coursework you have to complete?
So basically:
Take Chem and Maths
If you only want to take 3 and might switch field of engineering- take Physics
If you still want to take 4 and might switch field of engineering- take Physics and DT/FM (can help you weigh this up if you need but DT seems to be your preference rn)
If you still want to take 4 and are certain you will not switch fields- take whichever 2 you think you will enjoy and do the best at and also which you feel you will be able to manage your time in effectively considering coursework and difficulty of content
Hope this helps you out a little, have a nice day
