Degree apprenticeship workload

Hi, I’m a year 12 student who will be starting year 13 in September so I’ve been looking into degree apprenticeships as a post sixth form option and have a few questions.

1.) what is block release and how does it differ from day release?which one do you find better?

2)did you find the decrease in holidays stressful and how did you distribute them to prevent burnout?

3)outside of your 20% off the job training how many hours did you study independently to work on assignments on top of day/block release( on evenings and weekends)

4) did you have much free time and what were your hobbies outside of work?

Any response from current degree apprentices would be greatly appreciated

Ex-apprentice here. Thinking hazily back to my experiences with my employer (will vary).

1) We did our quals via Block Release which meant extended periods at college. In the case of our HNC it was 6 months at college before returning to the workplace

2) Our leave periods were pre booked by the management to ensure we actually took them.

3) I used to do a couple of hours a night, more if needed but play it by ear. Now, 5-6 years later, kind of the same as I'm doing my masters through work.

4) Same as when I wasn't an apprentice or now, Reading, games, etc.

As an idea of how my lot do DAs..... there's a what you'll be doing breakdown.
