year 11 summer holidays to sixth form - still not sure about future career help

hi, I hope you all are well and able to offer me best advice.

I really enjoy and find maths interesting so I am thinking to probably (hopefully) take it for A levels. I am also thinking to take business btec, I have never studied this subject but I find like it not sure and I am thinking to take health and social care, I have studied this for gcses but I didnt like it very much but I have no other option as I don't like most of the subjects.

I am not sure which career I want to do in future so can anyone give me advice? and I don't know which degree to do? I was thinking to do maths degree if possible, if I did well in A level maths or maybe business management. I am not sure though as I haven't researched much about it. I hope anyone could advice me help me.

thank you

Hi. It’s ok that you dont know what degree you want to do yet, I didn’t know until around the end of Year 12. Some people still don’t know what they want to do even after finishing A-levels. You can always take a gap year after alevels to take some more time to figure things out and do some work experience, etc.
When picking alevels, take into consideration what you enjoy and what you can see yourself doing. Maybe have a look into possible future careers and the routes to get to that and that can help you choose your subjects if certain career paths require certain qualifications.

Hope this helps 🙂

thank you so much for ur help, it was actually really helpful 😊. I really enjoy and find maths interesting but I am not really very good in it. I don't like other subjects that much so I am confused which subjects to take for A levels too. I am also thinking to take business as I said that I haven't studied this subject before but I think I will like it.

Hi. You can perhaps take a look at A level economics? A level economics is essay based (and really interesting imo) but an economics degree is very mathematical. A lot of people who like maths go for an economics degree if they don't want a fully mathematical degree and want something theoretical or enjoyable along with maths.
