btec at gcse
hihi quick question, im thinking of applying to medicine (this will be the second time but with my actual a levels - hopefully)
my question is i did a btec at GCSE (not at A level) and i just want to know do universities accept btec's at GCSE level? the only reason im asking is because 1. there is no mention of it anywhere
and 2. my grade average changes by a lot if i do include my btec rather than not here's a lil break down (my grades are quite low in comparison to other med applicants though)
9 english lang; 8 - maths; 8 - sociology; 8-7 - combined science; 7 - religious education; 7 - english literature; 5 - french foundation; distinction* - health and social care
as you can see, if you take my highest achieving GCSE's (usually top 6) it would be english lang, maths, sociology, combined science, RE or english lit and health and social care. (d* is equivalent to 8 or 9 if it were a normal GCSE, lets take 8.5) so my average would be 8.08 however, if they don't allow b-tecs then my grade in french (which i choose to ignore lmao) would bring my grade down to 7.5 average, and the 5 isn't that impressive
im not too worried though since i think i did well in english, science and maths, but i do know it makes my application less competitive if they don't accept btec's for gcse thank youuu
