BArch at Uni of Nottingham as a second undergrad degree?

Hi there.

Is BArch at University of Nottingham available for a full time funding as a second undergrad degree?

I am not yet eligible for finance, but I will be in 2025. can I apply for student finance once I get a place even though i am not eligible for funding at the time of application?
Thank you so much!
Hi shyfox,

Can you confirm the course name please? Is BArch an Architecture course?

Thanks, Clare

I have a bachelor's degree in law. Thank you!
Hi shyfox,

Architecture is not an exception to previous study rules so you would only be eligible for a maintenance loan for this course.

Thanks,
Calum

Hi Calum, I appreciate your response. I have been sent a document regarding the exception courses on another thread in SFE forum and architecture was a full-time exception. maybe that doc is out of date. I am trying to find out which courses are the exception so I can decide what to do really with my life since I don't have many options at the moment. I would really appreciate if I can get a definitive answer. Thank you so much.
Hi there,

Usually when you already hold an undergraduate qualification you would not be eligible for the Maintenance Loan or Tuition Fee Loan. Architecture courses do fall under as an exception but it is for Maintenance Loan and Supplementary Grants only. You would not be eligible for the Tuition Fee Loan.

Thanks, Drew
