Why Did I get my Uni placed Confirmed before Results day?

I Got an Email from USCA about a change on my application, At first I thought a uni pulled their offer but when I opened it I Saw I was confirmed at Bangor Uni (Top choice). I got a conditional offer and needed to get MMM (BTEC Grades) to get in, The grades were lowered from DMM to MMM due to my dad being in the army and moving around a lot as an army kid. I did well this year in college and got 8 out of 9 assignments as Distinction, So not sure if Bangor uni has already got my results before results day and because I got good grades they confirmed my place. I don't know.

So could someone please explain why I was confirmed for my uni course before the results day?

This is happening to me too, I needed a DDD to get into UoB and I just got an email saying that Ive been accepted, which is confusing as they only get results in August..
Slightly strange, but given that there were severe delays in 2022 for BTEC and other VQs, it's better to have them early than to have them significantly later.

@Admit-One @PQ I don't suppose one of you know any information about early release of VQs to universities? Of course they would get them early, ahead of results day, but is this too early?

I saw someone else also post about it for a different university that was in Wales, and it was the same BTEC grades that they achieved or something along those lines.
Interesting. I am not currently in undergrad admissions so have not heard anything about early results this year. We are not in a UCAS embargo period so technically there's nothing to stop a uni amending a status and UCAS conveying that.

It's usually quite difficult to make someone unonditional in error, so I think the most likely explanation is the uni being quite low on numbers and saving themselves some time later by accepting offer holders based on the info they have already.

PQ might be able to chip in thought.

On my post someone did mention that it could be perhaps that they 'accidentally' changed my conditional offer to an unconditional offer', perhaps it could have been that? I mean even if its difficult, it still is confusing as of to why they'd change it now and not mention anything, I am planning on calling them tomorrow at 10-11am to find out why they changed it, but for now it's a ???

Check with Bangor.
It may be that they have decided to accept applicants regardless of results, but only they can tell you.

It's possible, but it's usually more involved than just clicking one button to change your status so it is rare. Even if it was an error, they are technically bound by the update now.

I would still call just to confirm and make sure they are not going to be waiting for anything from you you. Either way, congrats.

It’s not a change or an accident. BTEC results have always been split between early results in July and those that are covered by the JCQ results day and embargo rules in August.

Pearson send the early results through to UCaS throughout July and any embargoed ones come later.

If your place is confirmed then that’s what has happened. Congratulations

Okay, I am going to email the uni about it and see what they say.

Email your college too. They should have your results and should be able to share them with you. If they’ve been sent to UCAS then they aren’t required to keep them secret until August

What should I do if my college has deleted my email? As soon as term ended, I am not able to login to my college email or anything college related..

Ring them up or go in or email from your personal email address

Ring them up or go in or email from your personal email address

When I rang them, they claimed 'they would send the certificates through the post' (they mean the actual certificates and not the results, which led me to just question my college's ability to even do anything properly.)

BTEC grades get finalised by exam boards around end of June/July maybe that explains why you’ve got your place confirmed early through UCAS it’s just that in August your results get given to you

This is exactly what the admissions team for Birmingham said. So @GoldenHeart don't worry, it's just that you got accepted due to your early BTEC results.
