Got accepted into UoB?

Hello, sorry I am new to this forum, but I just got an email for UCAS saying that there's something new on my application, and for some reason it says that I have a confirmed place here at University of Birmingham.

Do they not accept on results day? It's a month before that time and none of my friends know why I have been accepted as they were only accepted on results day or a day before it..

Thanks, I am just confused

Can you confirm that you previously held a conditional offer, with the conditions based on achieving particular grades?

What qualifications were those conditions based on? A-levels? BTECs? The IB? Something else?

Or were there other conditions (e.g. evidence of English Language proficiency) involved?

So the offer was to get a DDD, or a DDM (if I met a certain criteria). I knew that I got all of my coursework to be distinctions and I got 2 merits for the exams, so if it weighed out it would be a distinction. (BTEC of course).

There were no other conditions, I asked my friends at UoB to perhaps explain why and they say they do not know.

Well, it might be possible to achieve DDM (or even DDD) just by getting distinctions in all the coursework units, plus the exam units from Year 1. But that scenario's unlikely, because (a) most two-year Level 3 BTECs also include mandatory exam units in Year 2, and (b) the university are unlikely to be aware of all your coursework unit grades for Year 2 anyway.

It seems more likely that someone's jumped the gun and converted your conditional offer into an unconditional (and hence a confirmed place) by accident.

What are you going to do? Contact them and ask for clarity? Or just wait until results day, and hope nothing changes between now and then?

I think I should call but I do not know when to call, if I do get information on this I'll respond to this, but it's really awkward and confusing as of to why, I have done all the mandatory exams too

Call the main switchboard on 0121 414 3344 and ask for the Admissions Office. (Or use their enquiry form here, if you'd prefer to type than talk.)

I'll call them tomorrow probably at 10am because that's when their office opens I think, but thanks a lot for sending the information again

It was due to them receiving the BTEC results early. I've been accepted into the University 🙂 thanks for the help.
