has anyone got into LSE after missing an offer?

I got this message today:
We have now received confirmation of your International Baccalaureate results, which have marginally failed to meet the conditions of our offer. It is LSE Admissions policy to automatically refer these applications back to the Admissions Selector for reconsideration. You will now be considered alongside all other applicants who have also failed to meet the conditions of our offer.

The Admissions Selector’s final decision will be transmitted to you via UCAS Hub as soon as possible. Please note that in order to give full and equal consideration to all applicants, this decision may not be transmitted until after the publication of A-Level results on Thursday 15 August 2024.

After I missed my condition by getting 765 instead of 766. Is there a real possibility of getting an offer? I was under the impression that LSE did not consider people who missed the conditions at all. I found a place through clearing and they told me I needed to make a decision until the 16th of August. If there is a real possibility I might still get accepted I would wait but is it actually realistic? Or is it just something they say every year but pretty much no one actually gets in.

Given the fact LSE gets on average at least 10 applicants per place for the least popular courses and up to 20 applicants per place for the most popular courses, then it is highly unlikely you would be accepted when you've missed your offer I'm afraid. ☹️

Where else have you applied?

if you still reached the total points required there is still a chance.

there is always the possibility (typically if there were extenuating/mitigating circumstances) but I do know someone last year who had an offer for bsc econ for a*aa but ended up with triple a and had to go to queen mary's instead though, but keep your hopes up, think exams were harder this year, or suttm
They wouldn't have put you on hold if there was no chance whatsoever. You would have been immediately rejected.

It may be a very slim chance, but yes, they will have admitted people below offer previously, even if they don't shout about it.
